Paul and Sheri – 30 years on the field

Paul and Sheri's wedding was on June 26, 1987. Less than six months later they were on their way to their first mission assignment in Brazil, stopping in Bogotá, Colombia to visit Sheri's folks on their way.  They left the U.S. with their one way plane tickets and $150 a month pledged support.  For the first three years of their ministry they lived on half that while the remaining half was used to pay a student loan that covered Paul's last semester of Bible college and the publication and mailing of their monthly newsletter.

Over the years they have sought to NOT "raise funds" but rather to seek prayer partners who lift up the work the Morelands are doing before the throne of God's grace.  As Jesus so eloquently taught in Matthew 6, "seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you." Over the years they have been blessed by many faithful prayer partners – and the Lord has always supplied that which they need to continue to work for Him in the different places where He has lead them.

Paul and Sheri are second generation missionaries, also known as "Missionary Kids" or "Third Culture Kids".  Paul was raised in Brazil.  He is one of the sons of William J. "Bill" and Janet M. Moreland.  Sheri was born and raised in Colombia and is one of the daughters of Mark T. and Barbara I. Stringer.

Their ministry is based on fulfilling the "Great Commission", with special emphasis on "teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you", a part of the commission that is left out by too many in their rush to merely make converts.  This emphasis is reflected in S.A.C.M.'s motto: "… to prepare the saints…" which is taken from Ephesians 4:12.
